     ezmlm-return - handle mailing list bounces

     eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn [ -ddddDDDD ] _d_i_r

DDDDEEEESSSSCCCCRRRRIIIIPPPPTTTTIIIIOOOONNNN
     eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn handles bounces for the mailing list stored  in
     _d_i_r and, if it exists, the associated digest list.

     eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn is normally invoked from  a  ....qqqqmmmmaaaaiiiillll  file.   It
     reads  a  mail  message  from its standard input, and a mail
     envelope from the SSSSEEEENNNNDDDDEEEERRRR, LLLLOOOOCCCCAAAALLLL, and HHHHOOOOSSSSTTTT environment  vari-
     ables.

     eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn exits 99, not 0, upon success.

OOOOPPPPTTTTIIIIOOOONNNNSSSS
     -dddd   eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn will assume the bounce  is  for  a  digest
          list.  Normally, eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn will autodetect this from
          the bounce address.  Autodetection  makes  eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn
          less flexible and will be removed in future versions.

     -DDDD   eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn will assume that the bounce is for a  nor-
          mal  (non-digest)  list.   Normally,  eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn will
          autodetect this from the bounce address.  Autodetection
          makes eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn less flexible and will be removed in
          future versions.  -DDDD will become the default.

AAAADDDDDDDDRRRREEEESSSSSSSSEEEESSSS
     eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn handles mail  sent  to  any  of  the  following
     addresses:

     _l_o_c_a_l-rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn-
          Trash.  A help message or  subscription  acknowledgment
          bounced.

     _l_o_c_a_l-rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn-_m_s_g-_b_o_x====_d_o_m_a_i_n
          Distribution bounce.  Message number _m_s_g  was  lost  on
          the way to _b_o_x@@@@_d_o_m_a_i_n.

     _l_o_c_a_l-rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn-_m_s_g-
          Pre-VERP distribution bounce, in QSBMF format.  Message
          number  _m_s_g  was  lost  on  the  way  to  one  or  more
          addresses; eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn will parse the bounce to figure
          out the addresses.

     _l_o_c_a_l-rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn-wwwwaaaarrrrnnnn-_c_o_o_k_i_e----_b_o_x====_d_o_m_a_i_n
          Warning bounce.   A  warning  message  from  eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----wwwwaaaarrrrnnnn
          bounced.

     _l_o_c_a_l-rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn-pppprrrroooobbbbeeee-_c_o_o_k_i_e----_b_o_x====_d_o_m_a_i_n

          Probe  bounce.   A  probe  from   eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----wwwwaaaarrrrnnnn   bounced.
          eeeezzzzmmmmllllmmmm----rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn  will  remove  _b_o_x@@@@_d_o_m_a_i_n from the mailing
          list.

     _l_o_c_a_l-rrrreeeettttuuuurrrrnnnn-rrrreeeecccceeeeiiiipppptttt-_c_o_o_k_i_e-_f_I_m_s_g-
          A receipt from the list. This is logged. For  SQL  sup-
          porting  lists,  _c_o_o_k_i_e  is verified and receipt logged
          only if the cookie  is  correct.  The  arrival  of  the
          receipt  shows  that  qmail at the sending host is run-
          ning.

          For all the above addresses if, _l_o_c_a_l  is  followed  by
          -_d_i_g_e_s_t,  bounces  are  assumed  to  be from the digest
          list, and are stored in _d_i_r////ddddiiiiggggeeeesssstttt////bbbboooouuuunnnncccceeee  rather  than
          in _d_i_r ////bbbboooouuuunnnncccceeee ....
