All rights reserved. .TH userdel 1M "18 Feb 2016" "SunOS 5.11" "System Administration Commands" .SH NAME userdel \- delete a user's login from the system .SH SYNOPSIS .LP .nf \fBuserdel\fR [\fB-r\fR] [\fB-S\fR \fIrepository\fR] [\fB-q\fR \fIqualifier\fR] \fIlogin\fR .fi .LP .nf userdel -S ldap [-q qualifier] default@ .fi .SH DESCRIPTION .sp .LP The \fBuserdel\fR utility deletes a user account from the system and makes the appropriate account-related changes to the system file and file system. .sp .LP For accounts that are created using \fB-S\fR \fBldap\fR, the default values for qualified or unqualified user attributes may be deleted by using the special value \fBdefault@\fR as the login name. .sp .LP An administrator must be granted the User Management Profile to be able to delete a user. .SH OPTIONS .sp .LP The following options are supported: .sp .ne 2 .mk .na \fB\fB-q\fR \fIqualfier\fR\fR .ad .RS 17n .rt The name of a host or netgroup which qualifies which attributes to delete. The prefix @ is required to indicate that the qualifier is a netgroup name. The \fB-q\fR option is only valid if the user account is maintained in the LDAP name service. Only the attributes associated with the qualifier are deleted. The account and other attributes are not affected unless this option is omitted. In that case, all qualified attributes are also deleted. .RE .sp .ne 2 .mk .na \fB\fB-r\fR\fR .ad .RS 17n .rt Remove the user's home directory from the system. This directory must exist. The files and directories under the home directory will no longer be accessible following successful execution of the command. A ZFS dataset that was created for the user's home directory will be removed. The repository specifies which name service will be updated.
